In our final Southern Joy Podcast for season 2, Amber and I listed 5 Summer Habits to bring Joy during the long hot days.

I thought it would be fun to unpack each of these habits in a bit more detail.

Don’t we long for summer all year long? I do and with high hopes.

I’m going to rest, read, and do whatever I want to all summer long!

High hopes manifest through planning and planning with intention and intention form habits.

Why call them habits?

A habit describes a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up.

Summer is a time when schedules aren’t so strict and driven. Taking time to form a new habit through the season of summer might stick through the other three.

Choosing habits that promote a healthier you can be as easy as 5 Summer Habits.

Rest & Enjoy

These 5 Habits work together to heal the whole person and omitting one can thwart progress.

If I read and don’t eat, I will starve. If I eat and don’t walk, the calories will catch up with me. If I walk and don’t rest, weariness sets in and the body gets sick. If I miss the sun during these warm days, I am missing the whole point of summer!
